I saw that a few weeks back...... Almost twins, a year apart. I told dad about it last weekend but he wants a fire truck

That is a nice looking Polara. Looks pretty clean.

Retired FF?

Volunteer. From about 1970 to the mid 80's. I grew up in that firehouse waiting for dad to come back from a run, climbing on trucks, drinking cokes, playing shuffle board and shooting pool. This was their newest ladder.. A 1975 ImperialAudubon-Imperial.jpg

Those trucks must cost a fortune. It helps explain why you like your vehicles large.

:laughing4: .........................................

The first truck is a 1955 Maxim, the same type of truck that they had back then BUT not the SAME truck. That is their ladder, a fortune? Cant say what they were but costs are a lot more today than they were back then

Each plant at USS where I work has their own FD. Those guys are always maintaining and cleaning their vehicles. I've been involved with recruiting for the FD. It's actually a highly technical profession. My recollection is those trucks are way in the 6 figures.

In 75' that ladder cost six figures.......... Now, a million or close to it for a ladder

This was the pump in dads company
