Old Man with a Hat
Wake up at 8 am and both wife and son are gone already. Wife doing the early shift at a Post Acute Facility. Son picked up by a friend's family to go fishing at Lake Tahoe. Really that far vs local. Won't be home for dinner. So what to do at 10 am. As if I had to think about it with all the old cars around me and a Friday off with no one on the road. Out comes the F100. Average speed 60 mph. After that the Polara with average speed around 82 mph. It maybe slow off the line compared to the 360 in the AMC wagon but has good pull once you are at 50. Topped out at 95 for a short stretch. Just wish there were better shocks as the bounce in the front is a bit much. Wonder what the CHP had in their cars in 1973? Once back and cars put away I could turn on the stereo, put in some Deep Purple and turn it up for Hush, Smoke on the Water, Woman from Tokyo, and so forth. No one around to say "why so loud, are you deaf!"
