I go my 76 Newport home yesterday. I was able to do a little checking it out. This is the second Newport I've purchased in the last six months. From what I can tell this is a orginal paint car, the floors and body are solid. The vinyl roof is lifting but no rust under it. The Interior has the Castilian option as well as the luxury steering wheel, both in excellent shape. Under the hood is a 400 4bbl running a new elebrock carb, no lean burn. I popped the trunk and found a pair of skirts. It's a Canadian car as well as my 73 Newport. Both very Orginal cars. This is definitely a rare find in Ontario, most of these rotted out years ago. I've got two other C bodys as well, both Canadian cars but not so orginal 64 Newyorker 4dr Ht and a 62 Saratoga 4dr Sedan

Congrats on getting CL43N6C132991 (if I read correctly). LY9 is a cool color. It looks brown outside and gold on the tag -- due to flash, or does the color simply travel?

I call it brown as I always think gold is a light color. I agree the tag does look lighter. I'm sure the paint is original (I'm a body paint guy 40 years) I can't find any tell tale signs of overspray anywhere. It's a good survivor especially here in Ontario. Seems like sombody put on some 20" wheels, but stopped there with any more modifications. Still has the factory am radio. The car still has the original dealer tag (sticker) on the trunk lid. Paper work dated 1976 in the glove box verifys this to be the dealership it came from.
