I've been toying with the idea of cleaning up the outer wheel wells of my 300. I'm going to wire brush them ( grinder with a cup wire wheel) . I want to recreate the pebbly type of finish that is on there now. It was under coated from the factory which included the wheel wells. I looked at the spray on truck bed liner stuff in a rattle can and thought it might give me what I want. Anyone used this stuff before?

I THINK wheel wells were painted black as standard and the rough surface was the optional factory undercoating.
Anybody?

Good question.

The undercoat is what I have too. It's hard to tell what's underneath. Some areas that just had black paint on other parts are flaking off. I plan to re-do mine eventually with POR-15 with a top coat of flat black. Easy to keep clean that way.

I'm with 73 C on this, go por 15 on the metal you want to protect then whatever you want to add on top for extra protection!! :icon_thumright:
