Curious to see what it looks like, especially the 69-70 Polaras

Poverty caps? No! But, full wheel covers, yes. At least until I got some slotted wheels for it.

Looks totally sharp like that. Please, no more mags on nice cars like this!
Too late!

Was like this for twelve years.

Now like this. I've received more compliments on my car in the six years I've had these Torque Thrusts on that in all previous years combined.

:(

Oh well, as long as you've kept the original wheels, covers and tires, it's always easy to swap!
While I do still have them, the only reason why I would put them on is if my car were to be in a movie or television show. I prefer a modified look over factory stock any day.

Had this combo on my ´66 Monaco

However, quickly changed it to full size Hubcaps. For me, that combo looked more authentic:

I looked around. its NOT a look I have seen much to be honest.

Whitewalls (excluding "red lines" and RWL, or trucks/vans, fleet cars just putting any old tire in garage on a police car) and poverty caps tended NOT to be offered together from factory, even when whitewalls were options (and you got wheel covers with the ww's)

Still, i ran across couple of examples. I am sure there are others but nothing turned up for me

Hey Turbo301, you can disagree with me all you want, but, it's my car and I'll do with it what I want.

I personally prefer dog-dish caps with black walls.

A 67 Valiant that I had...

Properly the wheels should be body color, my 67 Barracuda...

During the muscle car era a lot of cars came with the dog dish hubcaps. Not because they liked the look, which is popular today, but because they would be swapped for custom rims. No reason to pay for the upscale wheels or wheel covers if you are just going to toss them. I am not a fan of the dog dish caps on the big body cars. I like them with either the full wheel covers or custom rims like Scotty's car above.

I reckon some of the US Chrysler hubcaps looked great - much better than aftermarket wheels.... They looked tasteful and impressive...

It was the opposite in Australian Chryslers - our hubcaps looked cheap and nasty...

Cheap and nasty?, no way...which ones?
A lot of the Australian valiant hubcaps were pretty average..... To be fair, the hubcaps on my 1996 Ford LTD were simply terrible - they spoilt the whole car..... Once the wheels were replaced, it looked like a completely new vehcile....
