I thought I had seen everything weather can throw at you, but saw these on the way home from town today. They have a name, wind rollers. I guess they can get quite big. I have never seen them before. They are a pretty cool sight to see in person.

We have them here too. Öh, had them. 2 or 3 years ago, when we had the last "real" winter....

Funny natural spectacle!

Wow !! :monkeydance: they are like frozen tumbling tumbleweeds or little snowman eggs :sSp_snowman2:

I have never seen anything like that before.... I need to get out more often...

I've seen those in Nebraska. For several miles along US81, there were hundreds of these that looked like miniature hay rolls. Very cool.

Never seen them before in my entire life but they're all over Columbus. Just crazy, I was driving around today & I was like WTF? At first I thought someone had done it until I drove some more & realized that there are thousands of them.

More cool pictures. These were taken on The Ohio State Campus in Columbus today.

You think it might be a big hoax?

The wind kept me up quite a bit of the night & I was expecting to have to clean up more snow like I did all weekend. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these crazy things though. And the even better news is that none of the snow drifted so no more cleanup.

First time I've ever seen those. Living near Seattle/Tacoma for 51 years, we don't get a whole lot of snow or wind that drastic.

That's a first for me too and very kool.

seen some of these things years ago in southern manitoba did`nt pay much attention to them then but they are for real

A couple more before they are gone. These where taken in the open field where I have been working this week. The first one was one of the biggest in the field about 18 inch or so.
