My windshield wiper control arms are disconnected and I was wondering how do I remove the plastic grate to get access to the windshield wiper arms. Do I take the chrome trim on the window off?

My windshield wiper control arms are disconnected and I was wondering how do I remove the plastic grate to get access to the windshield wiper arms. Do I take the chrome trim on the window off?

My Royal is a 75, should be the same cowl. Pull up gently on the front, and slide out. The stainless trim will have to come off. When you get into the assembly, if its just laying in the cowl like mine was when I bought it. The arm that connects the two pivots. The bend faces up. It can be installed the wrong way, it will work, but every time it swings you'll hear a thump. If you're a dumbass like me, you might have to visit the emergency room to get your hand sewed back up trying to find the noise. I would've said rookie, but I've done this kind of stuff all my life and know better. I think it goes without saying, turn it off. : )
