Wrong Torque converter? Modify, or return to sender?

Look at the shape of the two converters, you can see the difference. Better count splines and make sure this is an early converter before you alter anything. The front pump needs ground down, it won't fit any other way. You can see the red paint on the pump where in needs to be clearanced...

Sounds great. Are the mount bosses there and drilled? Good to get all the grease out before starting. Burnt up grease will leave residue on the rings and ring lands. Wipe all you can then turn it upside down on a stand and brake cleaner will get in the edge of the piston.

    383 differences per year

The difference in the ports from 516 to 915/906 means nothing on a stock type driver car with a small camshaft. And the difference in compression ratio is real and not a benefit to a 1967 and older engine with pistons from a closed chamber head. I wouldn't switch to 906, larger exhaust valve...

    sealing the timing chain cover

If you wait for it to dry then it will be to think to fit in there. You have an unknown surprise when you try to install the timing cover with that new gasket. You see those dowel pins in the block that locate the timing cover? Yeah it will be tight going on. Don't remove the dowel pins or...

Yes all the parts will swap over. BUT, what is the bore size, are the bores worn, are the pistons worn or??? The lifters need to be kept in order and go back on the same cam lobe. If you are asking this then you have little or no experience with this, not a good thing. Here is the mount...

    Front Dash speaker removal/recommendations...

Are you using the original radio? It needs to be an 8 ohm speaker. Getting an original speaker reconed is a good way to go. It will fit the car and sound like new.
