Day 1&2 of 6. Sanding, sanding and more sanding. The whole shop is pink now. :D
And I drilled holes into all the hinges all the way through into the sheet metal for easier allignment after paint. Thanks Jeff for this tipp!

The hole in the hinge and hood/trunk lid trick works great. I have done that on a couple of cars. Great work!
 
Curious about the blackout on the doors, was that how it was originally? I have only ever seen that when there is a white interior and then the doors are partially painted white.

AFAIK, it was an option to get the space between the weatherstrip and the door panel painted in the interior color. It's on the fender Tag "X9 = Black Upper Door Frame"

I decided to get the entire inside of the doors painted black, not just a small stripe.

2 coats of Nexa Autocolor 2K Basecoat (Paint Code: 1EGAB NO 1) and 3 coats of Nexa Clearcoat

I am so flucking excited for this, it looks stunning!:thumbsup:
 
She came home today. My dad even hung up a banner for her! :D
Now she will sit a few weeks for the paint to fully set and cure before I will continue working on her.
Meanwhile I will work on all the other parts to get them ready for paint!
