Got the heads pulled today. Cylinders look better than expected. Don't see any major scoring, rust or ring ridge. Still could not get the engine to turn over. Valves look a little rusty.

Was able to pull the intake, distributor etc today. Tomorrow will pull the heads. Looks pretty gummy in the engine...especially the exhaust cross over. Definitely best I'm pulling the engine.

So true. I never knew about the 58 Plymouth until I saw the movie. Then I was on a mission to get all 3 cars from the movie: 58 Plymouth, 67 Camaro and 68 Charger. That movie turned out to be expensive !!!

I agree...really enjoy seeing the progress on this car. I was so inspired I had to go out and buy a 1959 Dodge Coronet....didn't need another project but those pictures of wetskier2000's car were so cool I could not help myself....I knew I needed one also!!!!

I think the transmission bellhousing has to come with it. I thought these engines/transmissions had a hidden bell housing bolt on the inside which was really tough to get too.

Finally decided to throw in the towel and disassemble the engine. I've not had any luck in 3 weeks of soaking the pistons. The fluid does drain down some but not enough to make any difference. My only question is since the engine is seized I can't turn the engine to unbolt the torque...

Ironically I bought the car from John at Big M and he did not have any 1959 Dodge Coronet parts available. He did have a complete wagon but was selling it complete so could not part it out.
