Cracked rubber line on suction side of pump.
Gooey mess in float bowls from ethanol fuel, it's like a jelly that sits at the bottom, which is where AFB/Carter jets are.
Ignition will usually shake and pop so I would guess no, but you did say "sounds like a tugboat"

BS - I am only 74, not 90 RIP
and I don't wear glasses except for sun and safety purposes. I peed 2 times in 5 hours. Anything else old man 
?My problem is that my primary care doctor is young, around 40, and still competes in running marathons. He tells me that I have to walk fast uphill breathing hard for 1 - 2 miles each day and do strength exercises routinely too or he will drop me. He also won't let me get overweight at all so I gotta eat right. Lastly, he tells me he wants me to keep working on my cars and not sit around the house all day.
So I am doomed for life!
