Hard to believe they came off a car that has sat in the mud since around '75

I'm glad your "secret source" has worked out so well for you. Your plans for paint... am I correct in guessing your planning to go there when the warmer weather starts?

I'll most likely start at the end of this month and keep going till summer when everything ends up grown over.
i know how that is. by about july everything is covered by brush, vines and berry bushes. you either can't see what you are looking for or get ripped to shreds trying to get it.

So believe it or not I've actually been tinkering away.........

Booster to firewall support plate is cleaned, painted, installed, as is the wire holder, I need to clean the threads on the studs then detail it all a bit..

I also put two of the roadwheels with the new tires on the car. Which means for the first time since 2001 the Fury has 4 whiteline tires on it.

But wait, there's more.............................

Or Maybe you prefer Peter Faulk?

a few weeks ago I bought a pair of 8.25 rear ends......$50 for both because one had welded up spider gear ( I found out today that they had also welded them to the carrier so the carrier is toast too) it was the one with the drums.

I pulled the drums last friday to see how the brakes looked.............so last night (Saturday) I pulled the drums on the convertible and hammered all the old striped, rusty etc studs out, so I threw both drums out of the way where the other set was, I got looking and realized, hey their the same diameter, so I looked both over, these ones have lots of meat left, Neat! I thought, I don't need to buy drums now...............then I went, wait a minute and grabbed the tape measure, they are 11x2.5 instead of the 11x2's on the convertible, that rear end is a M body cop car rear end, sure enough, pulled the cover, 2.94's with the HD brakes, unfortunately it's toast, so I robbed the big brakes off it for the convertible.

Anyway, pulled the stuff I wanted off, marked it so I remember what its for.......

Then I took off my old stuff from the Convertible..................I found something pleasant, the 8.75 rear in my car has been rebuild recently, the fluid is perfect inside and the bearings on the axles are perfect as well. any way, out with the old, in with the new.

Okay, so I cleaned up all the parts I need to re-use and will paint some of them so It looks nice, it's basically to benefit my own anality....

So anyway, funny story, sort of, last year I bought a spring kit on clearance, it turned out it was for 11x2.5 not 11x2, so I hung it up on the wall..............so that kinda worked out eh?

Good to see your still at it. You have really been gathering a lot of neat stuff, I assume from your forgotten junkyard? Keep it up... its fun to watch the progress.

The rear ends I bought off a local Mopar buddy. Paid $50 for the pair. He just wanted the space in his dry shed.

You know backing plate determines shoe width and diameter the axel does not change.

I know, thats why the backing plates, drum, everything from the Diplomat Cop car rear end are going on my 8 3/4 only difference is the 8 3/4 uses 5 studs to hold it on, 8 1/4 uses 4, the backing plates are stamped with 5.
