Chrysler Newport 2d HT 1969.

Hi, new member here.
Just bough myself a Newport. Wanted a 300, but at Finland 2d HT Fuselages are damn rare.
Suppose to be California or so car. No rust, but interior is exploded because sun. Dash is ok, no cracks.
383cid, 727, 8 3/4, AC and power front seat.... thats it, not even tilt... Engine dont run, spins too freely... prob no compression. Have to open engine and see. Oil was milky :/
Maybe at May its running and moving.

Future plans, Fix interior and change it to black. Grille and lights to 300 version. Paint.

Anyone know anything about this car, it was at some auction and then transported to Finland.

Not sure if it's possible. '70 column has the ignition switch in the column, '69 is in the dash.

That i know. Thats why i want to swap it and to get tilt/tele also. But is there something else than just rewiring to ignition switch?
Differend mounting, lenght, attach to steering box..?

Would be easier to get a tilt and telly out of 69. If your having problems with the 69 only ignition lock and switch buy the 68 and earlier lock and switch then just change the wiring.

About side trims. I´m removing them for cleaner look and missing few parts + dents etc.
How does these small "studs" come of? Are they welded to panels or thru?

It had white vinyl roof. It was removed and "dark brown" is surface rust.

Nice score. Newport styling nicely understated and elegant. Interesting ideas you have about the changes. My .02 leave well enough alone.

Mods will be bolt-on, like those 300 tail lights, if those wont fit without changing tail panel then Newport lights stays.
Side trim, some reason dont like. Rocker panel and wheel opening trim is ok, same with vinyl roof.. but side trim...

It's the rocker panel trim you want to remove. Rust incubator.

That one needs Lambo doors to finish the theme. Based on the door handle, the owner must be a knuckle dragger.
