my 70 300 TNT convert has a Performer RPM intake with an Edelbrock carb and my hood closes fine.
(with the stock air filter)

Stock air cleaner base vs one that drops 2" or so to allow for clearance. It puts the air filter down vs stock height.

The drop base is for early style air cleaner, (up to 1969.)

i will post a pic of the air filter thats on the car. it is a dual snorkel, but its not the original one that was on the car.
we swappped it cause we had a restored one, ive got the original but i will have to go to my storage n take pics.
