Been fixing up my 78 Chrysler Conqueror after it sat for 2 years so I can put it up for sale and the trailer brakes were in bad shape, so i bought brand new backing plates, they came complete with new shoes, all springs, adjusters, and wheel cylinders. Hooked it all, bleed the brakes, and when you jack up a wheel and manually depress the surge brake housing you cant spin the wheel, so the brakes are expanding.
Yet when you hook it to the car and pull foward a few feet and stop the trailer runs the full length of the travel and bangs into the stop like the brakes are not stopping the trailer. Any one ever have this happen before, or have any ideas whats going on?
