Hey guys n gals. I forgot I joined a while ago..
NOT new to cars, retired for now, but had a 67 Imp 4dr when I was a senior in H.S. back in '81. Been getting stitches, stuff in my eyes, bathed in HOT tranny fluid and shocked ever since...
Laid a 205' long black line down the road (pooor snow tread)

fast forward 30+ and found a neat ol gent, bought some cars and parts from him. Didn't show up for a month or so and waddya see?

(I didn't know what model it was at the time) A '66 new yorker 2dr. Well I finally got it and he helped me get it running and got big plans for it.
NO knocks, or smoke (just the poop on top of the motor) but brakes are inop..

I'l love to do a SRT-10/6spd and a Srt 10 truck axle w/4.10/discs and posi.. I'll just start with getting it running cool/driving/stopping, then maybe use some truck or 300c, Concord leather int (just because it would cost me 2500 to redo the stock int) My bud's got a '68 Yorker 4dr. that if he's gonna crush it, I want to graft in the rear so it will really throw people.. I'll be removing all the emblems so people wont know what the heck it is. (at least here anywho)

Gotta jet.. C-ya

Yup welcome, nice car. You'll be the first with a hood scoop for your Imperial. A trail blazer, indeed.

Welcome aboard. Nice to hear that another one is being saved. Thanks for the pic and the outline of your plans. That will make an interesting project. Be sure to keep us posted.

now...take it easy. you know who all I'm talking too.

....? Not here too? Isn't that what hot rodding, customizing and fabbing is all about? I've found several REAL nice cars that would make beautiful resto's
C'mon down, over, up. I'll take you around and show you some very capable vehicles.

This is just ONE yard.. Get a trailer and bring a wad of cash. I'll try and get more pics of the other cars he got in (if so, it rained big time and may not have gotten the out)

70Nport: The pic is of a New Yorker with a scoop. I don't think it would "fit" an Imperial.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! I really like the silver one in the link.

Right. Gotcha. I read 67' Imp in the beginning of your post and for some reason ran with it. My bad.
A hood scoop on an Imp or NY'r would still be a first though. Just saying I haven't seen anyone on this forum who has that yet. You would indeed be the first.

That last one we've seen here recently.

Welcome. And, yes, here too.

Not many hot rodders here anyway.

WOW, 2 pages already!!

Didn't mean to snap back. I don't like JUST ONE make or model, and just LOVE tinkering/working on cars/machinery and everything in between. And I've gotten used to some peeps making coments, but who cares... They AREN'T PAYING FOR IT. AND THEY AINT DOING ANY OF THE WORK ON IT EITHER!!
I still love ya man. NO worries on this side.

It's just that ever since my first car (53or4 Nash Metropolitan, never got it running but learned a lot.(Like when my brothers would charge up a condenser and ask me to check it over.. ZAP!) I was only in 7-8th grade) and my second (49 Buick Super 4dr) that I used to drive down the fields, bringing lunch and drinks to the workers some times.(grew up on a sod farm up near Chicago. 3-4ft snow drifts couldn't stop that thing!!)
At the time, (about 40yrs ago) I was into getting them running and looking stock. And my brother in law was into cars also and had a NICE orig 35 Plymouth Business coupe. (now he finds and restores Woodie wagons to STOCK) My Oldest brother at the time was in college and roomed with a guy that got a '68-69 Super Bee with some sort of "SPECIAL" motor that wasn't supposed to make it to a street/civilian car, and used to run moonshine from St. Louis to Southern Ill, trading places running about 120-130mph. Paying for college street racing. The cops at the time couldn't catch him, so they waited at the dorms.
Then 40 some odd years later I'm watching about some skunk works from Dodge/Chrysler at the time and the guy being interviewed talked about some power plant/engine that slipped away from them....??? COULD IT BE?? I wish i could remember and get in touch with that guy. He retired from Dodge a few years ago..

In the 70's the gas crunch forced members of the fam to go smaller and was introduced to Hondas. A Honda head was tons lighter compared to say a 392 head. At the time, I really didn't have the strength and stuck with them for almost 30yrs, with a stint in 914 Porsches. Living paycheck to paycheck looking for extra $$$, I met an older gent who offered me a job to help him restore his 47 BUICK Super Convertible. (Did two of them for him, Made a dinner from a '64 Dodge bus, restored a '77 Chevy p/u, started a resto on a '69 MGC, now making a 52 Chevy convertible from 2-3 cars. Almost 17yrs and I'm getting alot better in paint now..)

....Man, bringing back memories.. Well, I've been spending most of the web on Alpar and C-body dry dock getting more and more info to drop a warmed over 5.2 roller with EQ heads into a Mitsubishi Mighty max long bed, one ton.. The thing is gonna SCOOT!! 5.2/ nv3500/ Yota front and rear with 3.73's..

Other projects that are 'simmering' are: '98 BMW vert with a LT1 chevy, '67 M715 w/AMC 360, adapting a '88 Jetski hull into a 12' Jonboat to help my son get credits in 'shop class' (don't have to worry about a prop cutting someone, and can go in 6" of water!!)
I'd love to find a '53-55 Coupe DeVille and drop in a 4 or 6BT running cooking oil..

Yeah.. I've got it B A D!!
