The 1973 Chrysler Thread

I did not know this ear of cars had a tilt only wheel. I know the T and T well and the straight no tilt. Ordered two cars in this era (1972 Imperial and 1973 NYB). one had T&T and other was no tilt but never knew there was a middle ground for MOPAR
For whatever reason, product development must have decided that Fuselage Dodge and Plymouth cars only get the option of a tilt column, but not tilt & telescope.

@Black440 recently listed CS43T3C190880 for sale here. Here is the fender tag of this JY3 / V1W / H7F6 NYB hardtop (exact same color combo as @Straight eight ) for records.

Can add this K code Newport to the list that was seen at the Adirondack Nationals show this past weekend, I’m not sure if this is a members car or not but I tried to get the best pictures I could of the interior and the vin on the dash tag….

Thank you! I read CM41M3C305570 (not CM41M3C305579) on the VIN tag of this Newport Custom 4-door sedan.

I recently replied to a question from @Newport73 about radiator part numbers for our cars, and thought it'd be helpful to post the dataset that I have for 1973 C-bodies with 360 / 400 /440 engines in the present thread, to enable easier searching.

The info comes from an Excel spreadsheet that I downloaded back in 2018 from a public website. The original file has now disappeared from the web, but I have a copy on my computer.

Here's the relevant screenshot:

The above info includes 3 of the P/N listed by @dh23t for his 1973 T&C: 3673957 / 3673057 / 3673056

I learned to drive on my late mother's 1973 NYB in spring 1974. I took my test on June 11 in it as a matter of fact. I remember the NYB had the scrolling / intricate trim along the lower body side above the stainless steel wider moldings. I don't recall if the NY (not B) had same or different. There was no vinyl trim along there from the factory if my memory is correct. I think all colors of NYB got the same intricate strips on the side from front to back.

Nope,
Do we have this one listed yet @ayilar? Found it for sale on marketplace listed 3 days ago in Staten Island NY, but unfortunately in sad shape with no fender tag picture….

1973 Chrysler New Yorker
Thank you for posting, not that I know of -- seems to have been pulled from the weeds only recently. Looks triple-black?

I believe so yes, it looks like it is to me too. I just really wish there was a fender tag picture to know for certain

Would any of my fellow 73 owners be able to provide me with an OE part number/website for replacement windshield wipers. I have done several searches and can’t find a listing specifically for 73 Chrysler New Yorker. Thank you in advance.

Here's what I did for Medina, my 1971 Monaco:

I killed this 73 years ago, but found another box of parts, with the build sheet.
CS41T3C218716 in case the spring mark hid the last digit.
The owners manual in this car was a swap meet purchase (from the price sticker) and it had CS43T3C211434 written in and had the registration from 1978 folded inside.
So 2 more gone.

Thanks to @Lycidias , who went to a car show in Bitburg, Germany ( home of the United States Air Force's 36th Tactical Fighter Wing for over 40 years and the site of a major NATO air base till 1994), we have CL43M3C327165 -- a very late build and, as such (with a SBD of July 16, 1973), one of the last Chrysler fuselage cars. Fender tag for @cuda hunter @fc7_plumcrazy and @69CoronetRT

This car sparks an idea for our next quest:

Let's try to find the last fuselage car that was built.

Maybe someone that has enough extra time on their hands can start a thread and keep track just like we did for the formals. This late build Newport would be a good starting point. Since the formals didn't share much of anything with the fusey cars, there may have been a larger than normal gap between the end of fuselage production and beginning of formal production.

I doubt that they had any special ceremony for the final car. I do recall seeing a press event for what I think may have been the 1 million car mark, which was a 1973 Newport.
