Easy question - what does this switch do above the A/C controls? I can't read the text on the switch? Map light maybe?
Did any of the non-Imperial chryslers come with electric antennas? I noticed on the Imperial panel they have an ant switch in addition to this one.

thank you,
Todd

Yes, Todd, an electric antenna was optional on Chrysler models and would be located on the right front fender close to the windshield.

Yes, map light. Love your rear window defogger!
I tried the switch with the door open, and nothing happened. Is the map light the same one that goes on when the door is open? (on in the photo.) I understand the rear defog works, but I have not been able to identify it in the trunk. I was looking for a fan and ducts, but it must use some other way to defrost?

The map light comes on with the door open, so there won't be a difference.

Close the door and try it.

Rear defrost is just forced air- not heated. There is a thin duct in the center and a fan that takes in air from the interior and sends it to the duct, via a hose.

That would explain the problem that I recently encountered. I had some work done on my 69 Newport and the auto electrician said that the map light was faulty because it remained illuminated and would flatten my battery. Given the temperature is always around 100 degrees, he would have had the door open while working inside the vehicle.

Be careful with that depending on who is sitting in the passenger seat ...

That's not the map light...that the arming switch for the WASE System... Wife Automatic Seat Ejection System.

They never painted it red as they should have because they wanted it semi hidden...

It ties into the bright switch on the floor. If you arm it and press the brights on and off twice rapidly, the ejection system goes off.

Very useful for those long drives when she doesn't stop talking...for hours...and hours...

I'm sorry... I'm just..bad. lmfao...
