There are PLENTY NOS ball joints for a '73 Fury III out there. I like TRW's old stuff, and just installed one to our family ride about 6 weeks ago.

NEVER trust these modern punk arse "technicians" to do this kind of job for you unless they were BORN BEFORE THE CAR WAS BUILT! One question: does your ride have disc brakes? If so, you likely will need a lower ball joint for that, which will look a bit different, and cost more. I suggest Rare Parts would be best for those.

I just picked a left one as an example. If you're going to replace the one, be sure all the rest are good, or replace them too. Same goes for the control arm bushings. Odds are good that those components wore out by now also if you have a ball joint allowing your car to pogo around.

Budd discs had their own lower balljoints.

69-73 single piston disc used the same balljoints as drum Cbodies from 65 to 73.

Good to know, thanks. Just ordered the TRW one and yes I have the single piston disc brakes up front

I hope it works. You should have bought the part from @mobileparts (Craig). He provides simply the absolute best parts and detailed explanation of what is right with what he offers as well as the issues with offshore parts.

You did the Right Thing! I know the ad for the TRW LBJ stated that it was good with disc brakes also, but as I don't drive any stuff from the "fuselage period" I didn't realize that Ma Par had dropped the Budd stuff for a better option just then. You got a damned good price for that one too. I'm happy with mine, seeing how well it was made. By using the Net for your market, you can train your search engines as you see fit, and not have to rely on any shadowy mob of grinning, hand-shaking "used parts salesmen" to do your thinking for you.

If I can find a good body in one of the big junk yards north of us, I'll have enough parts to put it on the road. The ONE resource I lack is TIME! Having a brood of little rug monkeys to rear takes LOTS of that precious resource.

Happy Moparring to ya!

Not in this thread, though I point out having scored one of theirs for the right LBJ in my recent job. Rare Parts sells good stuff. The LCA bushings I bought from them were McQuay-Norris. RP's "Diamond" grade parts seem quite good, and I noticed their LBJ resembled the TRW one more closely than Moog, which I don't see much of any longer. I still prefer steel forged in this continent, from ore mined 50-80 yrs ago over stuff from recycled steel (Japan, Korea, Taiwan) or stuff from the Asian mainland, for numerous reasons. New North American steel still if decent, thanks to modern methods in part, but a lot of the BEST stuff gets withheld from the mass market by the military industrial complex.
