Is there an adapter for original air cleaner to new carb size?

Hmm, this bodes well for the Weiand product. I'm glad I've not committed to the 'Brock Performer yet, and WILL RESEARCH each most carefully before committing funds. I used my 1966 2 barrel throttle bracket, though I used the 68 throttle return bracket and kickdown linkage all to good effect, but on a Mopar 2205968 intake, this all worked easily. Unfortunately, this intake, while it lays low, lays TOO low, with resulting performance degradation.....

Here is where the stock mount is on a 4 barrel Carter, using the original 65 cable mount system... (Circle and line). the stock Carter AVB operates with a low pendulum style, so the connection point is very low. The 1906 requires the cable to come in around 2" above the stock height because of the higher pendulum style linkage. So it is NOT the manifold height that creates the problem, it's the actual carb that does.

And this is the same on all Eddy carbs as they use identical throttle linkage designs..1403, 1806, 1806...etc.

Either using a Weiand or Eddy intake, it won't make a difference in the height of the cable linkage. The carb mounting height is the same as stock. Unless of course you use a higher manifold like the RPM, which makes no sense to use because of the height (you will need to cut your hood) and what your intended use is.

So consider that in your selection process. You WILL need a higher cable bracket setup. Again. I chose the Weiand because it has a cleaner, less congested look around the carb base.

Also...if you go with the Weiand, use the Edlebrock mounting bolts (or ARPs$$$)!!! Do not use regular bolts as you will never get a wrench on the front right bolt over the #2 cylinder. There's not enough room to turn a wrench or a socket...how do I know that...

Let me know how you make it. It worked perfect for my set up. I have a dual snorkel from a 65 New Yorker with A/C. It's the same size as the single, so it should be fine for you as well. Makes sure you get the same air cleaner....very import
