In the new film "I Can Only Imagine", my old 1986 Ford Country Squire is a feature car (NOT a background car!) about 15 minutes into the film. The production company used the car for three days of shooting, resulting in a little over 1:20 worth of on-screen action with the wagon. There is a scene with the mom and son in the car while they're driving, filmed from inside the car. All of the other scenes with the car, my wife is driving it! Cool drone shots, plus you'll see the car drive into the entrance of the camp. It's really pretty damn cool!

This is the fourth film I've had vehicles in...well, make that three films and a web series.

Those scenes were filmed in November 2016. The movie debuted in OKC (it was filmed here in its entirety!) on March 15th at its red carpet debut. Full theater! It debuted nationwide the next day. The film grossed $17M its opening weekend, and is in far more theaters than originally planned! The debut was for cast, crew, and invited guests. Well over 500 people were in attendance!

If you have yet to see the film, go NOW! It's such a refreshing experience over the usual car chases, shootings, monsters, sci-fi CGI scenes...A wonderful, positive movie!

That’s awesome, a couple years back they were looking for period correct cars in my neck of the woods when they were filming black mass. Unfortunately I was having thermoquad issues at the time:BangHead:

I've been wanting to see this movie.
Sure I'll need a box of Kleenex too
(For the wife that is...) I'm a tough cookie but I crumble easily...

Years ago, around 1977, when I was a kid they were filming a James Caan movie, Hide in Plain Sight, in Buffalo. They needed period correct 60's cars for the set. I sent them a picture of my 61' Dodge Seneca. They called me, but meanwhile I sold the car, but told them I had 59' Plymouth Belvedere. They said that would work. So I took the car and myself down town and was hired. They paid me $25 for the car and $25 for me to be an extra per day! Central Casting of NY. Got two days out of them. I spent a whole day with walking around with James Caan. You may laugh, but that was big money back then! Don't forget minimum wage was $2.35 an hour!

cool story. here's the movie

Thanks for posting that! At 1:02:31 you can see my car. James Caan backs his car into a lawyers Corvette, my car is the cream color 59' Plymouth in the background. As the camera pans up you can see it a little better. About 4 cars behind the vette.

I was actually walking down the street in the background when this was being filmed.
That scene took all day. They first 4 or 5 attempts didn't show any real damage to the vette. Every time he hit the car the bumper on the Ford would hit the front and rear rims simultaneously and didn't damage the car. So they had us come back to the lot move our cars and line them up at a different angle. Then when he rammed it... well, you can see the damage.
