My father went through a phase which included static straps, curb feelers, rear view mirror hung pine scented deodorizer, an clear plastic seat protectors. The static strap was to stop the dog from barfing but didn't seem to work, however we kids didn't get car sick he was a believer. The deodorizer and plastic seat covers were his answer to limit damage due to air pollution. He was a pipe smoker and with the windows up, visibility was a little restricted. People did a lot of strange things to solve problems, today we have google and a whole new collection of screw ball solutions.

The refrigerator of today vs the past

Opinion | To a refrigerator dying young
So freaking true. I bought an avocado frig in 1973 and it worked great. In 1995 or so my wife decided avocado had to go so the frig moved to the break room of an office building I own. There it sat for about 5 years working perfectly until one morning it was dead. I looked in the back and found 30 some years of dirt, one dead fan and the motor start relay was toast. It was a Sears frig, so over to the repair center, the guy says I need a new relay, $19 and a fan $11. Both were in stock and that afternoon the frig lived again. About 4 years later, a new tenant brought their own fancy dual door with ice and water monster frig and wanted the poorly avocado gone. So I took it home and since my garage was full of Fury, I stuck it outside on the deck and filled it with pop and beer. In winter, it got covered with snow and suffered -30 type weather. One year we left a bunch of 7-up cans too long and they all exploded. Come spring, I took the power washer to it and cleaned her up great. In 2013, in its 40th year, avocado moved into my new house's heated garage for her golden years. She was reunited with her old buddy, my 1969 Coldspot 28 cuft chest freezer and the two were happy. unfortunately the chest freezer took up too much floor space so I bought an upright freezer and sold the coldspot to a local rancher who sells frozen meat. Avocado was heartbroken, she rubbed one of her coolant lines against her case and committed suicide.
:drama:
Anyways, I bought another oldie for $25 and I have cold beer. The old frig that replaced avacado died years ago. The tenant's fancy frig died and it's replacement is half dead, frig works but the ice and water don't. My brand new upright freezer works, but it's a piece of crap compared to the old Coldspot. I think my problem is that I just miss old Avacado!!
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Those cars are built by a sector of the American population that is generally accepted as also being of lower income.

I don't understand it.
The current reality is constantly offending my learned conceptions.
