A Little Side Project...

Bought a 67/68 Mercury Cougar tail light from a guy at work about six months ago. It gathered dust for a long time before I decided to do anything with it. Anyway, a little router work, wiring, staining, and boom, I have a new wall hang.

It lights up too:

The tail light is secured to the red oak board with the original fasteners:

The '64 T-bird vendors have an electronic version of the sequential tail light module. Neat work! Agree about the Cougar owner doing a restoration . . .

Plus you can hook it to a door alarm, to flash when "a visitor" comes in.

Pretty cool. I've got a couple of full 68 grills that I've thought would be fun to put on the wall and be able to turn the head lights on, but they are kind of heavy.

Right now, I am using simple LED strips so I couldn't do sequential lights. Would be very cool however.

I didn't compromise the light in any way and have all the original parts, if a Cougar owner really wanted it, he could buy it.
