    Paint code mystery

The car was painted a dofferent color from stock. When looking at the door jamb you can see it was all painted the same as the outside of the car, The paint on the other side of the weatherstrip is the interior paint color. Not always the same as the body color.

You say your from Canada, can you break that down a bit for us? Shipping is going to be bad from the USA so Canada is your affordable source. I have 4 15x6.5's but west coast USA is far from most car guys.

Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

Look under the dash, you are not going to move that brake release very easily. The hood release is the one to move if you must move something.

    More on float needle sticking

Reading this wondering what the goo is from. Tell us about the "coated tank". That sounds like a likely source of the problem.

    Dash Paint Type

1960 model year Chrysler products did not have suede dash paint. The dash is bolted into the car. I agree with the paperwork that shows semi gloss finish. Take the trim off the top of the dash next to the windshield and look at the finish underneath.

    Reman squareback alternator internal short?

Is there a insulating washer under the bolts securing the field terminals? There should be one on each for a dual field. You can remove one insulating washer to ground it. The clipped off terminal looks like some one was going for that.

66 New Yorker 440 - what do you hear?

Those PS pump brackets wear out at the bottom through bolt and the rubber bishing won't fix that. There are rebuild services for the brackets.

    Hit n run door dent

Do this, all you or I would do is screw it up worse. there is a science about how this is done. You may need to talk to several of them. Many don't do old cars as the metal is too thick for their tools and experience. Yes that totally sucks as there was no prior damage to that door.

How much bar is too much bar

How will it hurt the rubber in the balancer? Good idea taking off the timing chain, better idea is taking off the rocker arms, then all the valves are closed and they won't hit the pistons when turning it. I like the idea of priming the oil pump, get oil in all the bearings, cannot hurt right?

How much bar is too much bar

Since you have the intake off then put the plugs in and fill those 2 down the intake port. Easy.

How much bar is too much bar

How did you fill the cyinfers? Through the spark plug holes? Then 2 or 4 of the pistons are near the top and don't have all the diameter of the rings soaked. You,can put a small screwdriver in the plug holes and feel which holes have pistons at the top. I like to put plugs back in those 2 or 4...
