I think the issue is, to quote Eric O. from South Main Auto, "pin fitment" in the bulkhead connector. We're getting signal to the relay, we have a good ground, and we're getting load to the horns, but the apparent looseness of the connector seems to be the problem. I'll leave it be for a week...

UPDATE: 10/17/2025 The horn works now. Not exactly sure why. After cleaning the copper ring, replacing the hockey puck and insuring the ground "spring" was connecting to both sides of the rag joint, adding a little lube to the spring mechanism that contacts the horn ring, and double checking...

I found some generic rod clips at O'Reilly's that worked on my '66, but it was $8 for two! It was the yellow clip.

Aside from the broken turn signal canceling cam, everything in here looks OK. I did polish up the copper ring on the underside of the steering wheel. I’m gonna put it back together and see what happens but I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna work.

Changed out the steering coupler "hockey puck" today. Went together much easier than it came apart as the cap screws were pretty rusted in place and getting the steering shaft to not spin while trying to unloosen things resulted in a few bruised knuckles and one mangled finger nail . . . cost...

Had this on my phone the other day. It literally expanded to fill the entire screen and I had to wait about 5 seconds before it shrunk again. Super intrusive . . .

I think I need to pull the steering wheel to get to that turn signal switch area. Pictures above show the horn button and contact plate before cleaning. If my other tests "check out" then I'll pull the steering wheel and keep going down the rabbit hole . . .

UPDATE 9/28/25 I cleaned up the horn "button" and metal plate it sits (just some light corrosion) - no change. Seems like the button does "button" things correctly, so I don't know if that is the problem. It's springy and moves freely throughout it's range of motion. Is there a way to test...
