    8th Annual C Body Show - June 22nd

I will have to consider trying to get there again this year. Although TN might get in my way. My daughter is moving down there to be a flight attendant, with a likely July 1 move in. I am sure my moving services will be required meaning a 16 hour drive down there with a load of crap. Will know...

Tech tip: How to align ur own suspension at home

I bought the QuickTrick alignment kit about 5 years ago. I have used it a few times. They are on gen4 now and around $350. I think mine is gen 1 or 2, and maybe $250 at the time. I did buy an additional digital angle gauge off Amazon so I wouldn’t have to change from side to side...

    Ride Height............,Again

If you freshly rebuilt with new bushings and seals keep going up to the factory ride height. What you don’t know is who adjusted it prior to you to maybe try to lower the front and raise the rear. Even the factory setting is not that high. I found that when I rebuilt my’68 Polara I set it to...

Parts cleaners - Ultrasonic, vibratory & solvent-experience welcome.

I got my Ultrasonic cleaner Friday. In my excitement to use it I didn’t take many pictures. I am still figuring out the best solution. I started out with pinesol and Mr.clean and cleaned our wedding rings first. That worked great. Then I went on to big greasy motorcycle parts like my exhaust...

My thoughts are that if I am going to plate it or paint it or clear coat it I would run through the ultrasonic (theory at this point). Then buff or blast it depending on the desired finish. It’s not very effective to try to blast through caked on grease. I as well dislike the flash rust. They...

NOT MINE ‘68 Polara Convertible. Did we/I miss this? Nov 2023

Looked for the fender tag but didn’t see it. Looks like a spray bomb restoration in the engine compartment. Should be burgundy metallic instead of black in ‘68. Horn ring broken…. Somebody had a good got a decent buy in 2009 if the records are accurate.

NOT MINE ‘68 Polara Convertible. Did we/I miss this? Nov 2023

I know this has sold some time ago, but wanted to put it out here for future reference if it comes up again. At one time I said that If I got another, it would be a convertible and match my current 2dr HT I missed this one. Not sure I was a buyer at $26,000 unless it was perfect. Vin...

Parts cleaners - Ultrasonic, vibratory & solvent-experience welcome.

So I have been reading up on ultrasonic and aluminum ( and have run across info on vinyl record cleaning as well). Most of the internet/HF cleaners are 40kHz. They are fairly aggressive creating larger cavitation bubbles which is great for cleaning steel and heavily soiled surfaces. However for...

Parts cleaners - Ultrasonic, vibratory & solvent-experience welcome.

If you keep the game tank covered it will last for years. I think I had mine in there for about 15 + years. Mine evaporated down enough that I needed to clean out and add new. My new solvent has a less aggressive smell than the first stuff. People say it’s about the same as odorless mineral...

Quick shot of my plating system 2.5 gallon Left to right. Heated de greaser, in stainless stock pot and hot plate about 170 degrees, muriatic acid, Caswell Copy Cad(with aquarium heater, (about 100 degrees)And rinse for each step. I did buy a water distiller as I needed about 12 gallons of...

Parts cleaners - Ultrasonic, vibratory & solvent-experience welcome.

I have used many parts cleaning/ restoration methods over the years. I seem to spend a lot of time cleaning parts and trying to make them new again. I also dabble in cad / zinc replating (another time suck for a different thread). I have always used solvent for internal engine and transmission...

NOT MINE 77 New Yorker 4door $3500 Fargo

Not mine, This is a few blocks from me. I have seen it sitting on his back 40 for a few years. Last fall they moved it into their yard and now just saw it posted. If someone is really interested I could look at it this week before Saturday and get pictures. After Saturday I cannot help for two...
