Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

They put it there because all they had to do was drill a hole in an unused bit of plastic inside the glovebox, instead of integrating it into the existing dashboard layout. And I'm guessing that it was also "groovy" and exotic to have that hidden button that your GF could push for you once you...

Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

It's not odd, considering the era. Ergonomics, ease of use, ease of assembly and repair wasn't a big consideration back then, other than the obvious AC and radio controls that they bragged about in brochure marketing-talk. Most other items that drivers and mechanics had to deal with went...

Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

Not my car (I have lots of Hurst pics), but no. Definitely not factory. There's no "R" code for factory kick panel speakers....you were lucky to get a single one in the back!

    Some more classic pictures

The pic of the engine hanging on the shop crane in a dirt driveway near a shadetree....just might be THE MOST CLASSIC image in this wonderful, long-running thread. Many of us have "been there". That's me with the wrench, summer 1975. Tired 318 coming out of my 68 Dart, a serious 340...

Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

Your releases are in their correct locations. Pictured are Hursts, where the "hood" release is actually the trunk release. Otherwise, all the same setup.

Two 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst's Featured On YouTube

Ahhhh.....I see the J99927 on the "Leonard Car" BSheet. I'm under the impression that the Fender Tag is not on the car right now. Just wondering if you have it somewhere. I've had both cars in the Registry for some time, just didn't have that Leonard VON. And now I have the console, clock...

@tallzag Can you please provide us (us meaning the Hurst Registry) the VON for the Hurst that I **think**you store for a friend of yours? The VIN is 199985, the Door Date is April, and the VON will be J995XX. I would be great to have those two Xs! I'm guessing they will be "27".

    1972 A/C relay

Yes, use of the relay removes nearly all of the load from the wiring, bulkhead connection and other connectors, the AC switch, the ammeter, etc. Just like your headlight example, the only juice that is now in the circuit is the tiny bit feeding the relay. No vacuum switch or compressor On/Off...

    1972 A/C relay

I should add that the Low Pressure Switch is still functional with my electrickery setup, as it is "in series" with the 85 and 86 trigger terminals on the relay. Pic stolen from the Interweb....this isn't my artwork:

    1972 A/C relay

Yes. I did exactly that to take the amperage load off of the whole system using an aftermarket relay (not a very cool Mopar unit like yours!). I went to the alternator post for the direct source and hid the relay and wiring under the receiver/dryer. This allows you to use the original wires...

    Some more classic pictures

When I was a child (born 1955) my parents had that exact same turquoise vacuum. It lasted until the early 70s, still running but was getting beat up and worn out, so they replaced it with.....a new tan Electrolux with more fancy attachments and a "power brush head". That item worked perfectly...

    71 Fury Custom

PAISLEY!! Very groovy back then. This 71 Grand Coupe was my parent's car that was passed down to me in about 78. Loved that thing and drove it until it mostly rusted away. Me and my gang called it the "Brown Barge"...of course.
