9th Annual C body Show...

I have enough trouble going 20 minutes from my house lol
Do you patch as things break or do you keep up on the preventative maintenance that any vehicle needs? I don't know you but there are some that buy the cheapest part, that only replace the one part that's causing a problem "right now", with no thought to what might break or what companion parts that should be changed just due to age and mileage on them. To replace suggested parts at the right time and mileage with "the good stuff" will go a long way towards making it more trouble free.
I just came back from camping with my 316000 mile 01 Durango towing a 28ft jayco. At the last potty break stop I had a guy in a Cummins dually pull up behind me and told me he thought I was nuts for doing so. I said why .. I have the same engine (360 magnum) in there as I would if I was driving a same year 2500... And I've upgraded the rear springs. And I have auto meter trans and water temp gauges to keep an eye to for problems. Of which I had none.
A little maintenance goes a long way.
I have a 83 D250 down to the bare frame right now, doing the bodywork on the cab as we speak, as soon as Im done with what I can do on the cab, the whole thing is going to the body shop in pieces for paint ... When that's done that will be my camper puller. But til then the Durango does fine.
The people that say "I'll never have a vehicle with over "xxx" miles and who trade a good vehicle away and waste their money just because they've reached some number on the odo, drive me nuts

Can't wait for the 10th Annual C Body Show. You have a lot of space near your garage as I remember. Something near the Belvidere Plant would be cool. @ayilar there is Rock Cut State Park off I 90, It does have a lake. Don't know about any details picnic or visitor accommodations.

I may try to make it again. I thought I would have more time now that I am retired, but day 3 of retirement came and they called to contract me back part time, but I can set my own schedule. But I already committed to help an old co-worker with corn and bean harvest, starting in September.
I marked it on my calendar.

Since previous venues are no longer feasible. I've decided this year, the C body show will be held at my shop in the front parking lot and adjacent grass lot. Will be grilling up food and have some cold beverages for attendees. This event will be more of a Car - B - Que/Open House for this year at least.

10am - 4pm

Going forward, I'd like to have our event the day before a Chicagoland Mopar Connection show. I've always thought the Saturday of the Belvidere Mopar Happening would be perfect. Usually the 3rd Saturday in July. Thats a 2 day show and SWAPMEET. Also its CMCs biggest event of the year. Hit the Show Saturday for a few hours, meet up with a bunch of C bodies - short cruise from Belvidere to Rockford for C body show/Car B Que. Then the big show and swapmeet on Sunday. Thoughts?

Will update as we get closer.

Good news Wyatt! Your location will work well. Plenty of parking on pavement or grass. Food & drinks? I'm there.
There's even a place for the burn out contests. Bring your chairs.
I've got some goodies left over from past show that you can have to pass out when the attendees start rolling in.

I think this is a really cool idea going forward!

Also, thanks for putting something together this year. I hope to make it and i'm sorta "just up the road" so if i can help I think you know how to get hold of me

Thanks for putting something together.
Have the date marked, but most likely will decide the week before. I think I remember the directions Scott gave me last summer. Don't know if I'd drive down with the Imperial although, maybe just in my daily. ('10 Challenger)

Save the date!

10/4 will be here before we know it. Looking forward to hosting this one. I just hope I do half as good as @sixpkrt at hosting.

If you want to bring parts to sell we can have a swap meet too.

Cant get any time off from work til next March.
A fall show is a great idea.
Up here in the rust belt October is snow tire changeover season.

Love the idea of incorporating a c-body swap meet. I have a fender for a 69 Fury (DS i think? have to crawl up into the loft and look at it again). Also a full set of 15x6.5 blasted and painted with worn out set of Hankook optima H724 that would make good rollers. I have a LOT of other 69 fury trim and small parts and other fusey convertible if you're looking for something contact me and let's make a deal. can deliver to the meet!

One week away. Weather looks very promising at this point in time. Going to get some food this week and need a rough headcount of folks planning to attend.

@Toolmanmike can we get a sticky on this?

I'll be there with the black Imperial.
I saw this 72 NYer parked at a shop and stopped in to look it over.
He'll try to make the show on Saturday. BTW, he needs a fan shroud. If anyone has one to bring to the show to sell, look for him when you arrive.
