So this thin piece of plastic came out of the window channel on the vent frame that the window goes up and down in. I'm not sure if it's supposed to stay stationary and the window moves in it, or if it's supposed to move with the window, but I assume it's so the window glides easier. It got jammed up and mangled and I just removed it. The one on the passenger side is getting messed up too but still in there.

I looked around some restoration sites and Rock Auto but couldn't find anything like it. I don't even know what it'd be called to try and do a general search.

Does anyone know if it's available or if there's a suitable substitute? If I can't find the correct part I was thinking of buying some adhesive-backed PTFE tape and just run some along the lead edge of the window.

I'm not sure if I can help You, but I had the same problem. I was very unsure about restoration products fitment to Formal. Also the price is ridiculous.
If I understood right, You are 3D-printer guy. I 3D-printed new ones out of PET material. This is 1978 C-body with vent windows - same as Your application. It's my own design and have been working fine for a year by now. Side pieces are printed new as separate parts. Butt joint in the middle because of print bed limitations. U-part against the window edge is re-used, but that's optional (for extra sealing).

Hmmm....

I'm not sure if it's the same piece. The thing I have in my hand in the picture is thin like a piece of paper and has a "U" shape to it. Unless maybe that thin piece is part of this piece that you're reproducing. Or does your piece eliminate the need for that thin material?

And yes, I am a "3d printer guy" :)

While I think I need this channel felt too, the thing that came out that I'm holding in my hand in the picture was thin, long, u-shaped, and translucent plastic. I think maybe it is supposed to be bonded to the edge of the window.

Information about the glass run channel in question. Not bonded on glass - held by pins and slider pieces. No felt in this location, just the thin plastic profile.

Yeper! Trying to get as much done before it gets too cold to work in my non-heated building. Am hoping to get it worthy to travel to Vermont to pick up my daughter from College for Thanksgiving break but the AutoTemp is kicking my arse and I gotta have heat/defrost for that trip!

Thanks for the info.
