    A little digging around Corvette forums and turns out the traction control system will do this if the wheel/tire size has been changed... Guess what I did... Yup put C5 front wheels/tires on the rear to clear the 1959 sheet metal... Root cause found....

    If you're still looking I have the passenger set, 2 for the seat back and 1 for the seat bottom trim. This is the trim only with all the attachment posts in place.

    you don't want to hone the lifter bores just to hone them. too much clearance will cause low oil pressure at idle. the lifters should be checked to make sure they slide in before honing. they should have cleaned up the oil return slots a lot of rough metal that might break off.
