Drum spindle an swap. Disc can swap,but it moves the caliper position front or rear of spindle. So the brake hose bracket won't be on the same side and caliper.

2892092 is a 1969 C-body 440 trans. 2648 is Oct 27, 1968 assembly date. Look on the passenger side of the bellhousing for full vin or last 8 of vin and see if it matches you car.

Air is leaking by the rings, normal. Don't remove the valve cover, it's a waste of time. Remove the exhaust manifold, you will see the black soot at the leak, or a blown out manifold gasket.
