Date code relates to production date of the item, not what's inside the unit.
As I recall, the MP unit is "restoration correct" as to the last ones that Chrysler produced, according to a MP rep at a seminar at Mopar Nats, one year.
Enjoy!

The block-huggers might hug the block and bolt-up to the cyl head, BUT will they clear the steering box and linkage? THAT is probably the reason the Schumachers are expensive?
Look in the website catalog for the block huggers and look at THEIR application list, for good measure. Checking...
I think the master is either leaking or someone spilled some when opening the lid.
Looks like the same master to me. Same rust mark on the passenger side of the booster.
I was under the impression that 77 and 78 are interchangeable. My 78 is all chrome on top and pitted. I like the look of the 77 grill no chrome on top. If it's a bolt in exchange. I also need chrome top trim around windshield above windshield. Just the top piece of chrome. Mine is a new yorker...
I've wondered the same, my guess is they were just used up. The NYBs and Imperials were almost certainly garage kept and used sparingly and rarely out much in winter, while the Plymouths and Dodges were kept outside and driven year round. If you go to Hemmings there are generally more Cadillacs...
Don't refrain. That was not pointed.
I've been considering the car as it is pretty cool. Your post helped me. I wish more folks would post what they find (especially barracuda's)
They are just having the typical old man point of view back and forth.
the big wire should run directly to the battery.
If the alternator output is connected to any wire that normally doesn't have power on it when the ignition is shut off, the power from the alternator will feed the ignition system, keeping the motor running. Our normal alternator's field (the...
I don’t have anything to do with this car. I just saw it and thought I would let the group know. I agree it seems to be overpriced but it does look like a survivor that doesn’t have hidden bodywork done. I’ll refrain from posting my findings from now on.
Wouldn't the lit edge plexiglass be akin to undercar neon? LOL!
Some good news today... Turns out I didn't need to spend thousands of dollars on fancy, shcmancy coilovers or air bag systems to address the tire rubbing the fenders issue. Seems C5 Corvettes have adjustable mono spring systems. A...
Gotcha! Totally understand.
I do enjoy the forums as they are a vast cyberscape of written word interpretations.
I think you can unwatch the thread if you can't shut it down.
Sorry but if it's 180 out you just turn the crank one revolution and it will be in time straight up. Just check to make sure the distributor rotor is lined up with #1 plug wire.
The 87 5th AVE heater don't work because the unavailable automatic climate control motor that's buried in the guts of the dash with the heater core is bad. So, the blend heat/ac air door that don't work isn't letting air go through the core. Stuck in a/c possession. So, no heat. But all the...
