    No fender tag. This shell was cut in half before I got it for the trunk pan. Just so I understand, the axle without the center section is not numbered or date coded? The current gear is a 276 so planned on changing the center section anyway.

    61 carpet in a 62 ?

    I think the heel pad pattern is different. I have a 61 and a 62. Floors don't stand out as different, but I hadn't measured.

    Yes possible. No other numbers but a date on ring gear. Either way it is the best 8 3/4 cnter sextion. 65-69 C-body rear is 61.75" wide so it should fit. Do you have the fender tag for the car? Can you post a picture? You could compare the dates of car and gear.

    yup. as my grandfather said, too many times its seems, about the Rouge Plant: "a pile of iron ore on one end (of the plant), and car pops out the other end." Not quite true, but pretty close. :)
