    toe on one wheel

Is toe perfect now, or off a bit. Moving the eccentrics will move toe, but how much? And will it move it wrong way or the right way? Is steering wheel centered now or off a bit? Moving toe on one wheel can make the steering wheel not straight. That's why both sides are adjustable.

'68 Chrysler 300 15" Disc Brake Wheel cover restoration

Looks great! Perhaps you could get them cleaned, taped, shot, and touched-up as more of an assembly line production of sorts? Take care, CBODY678

Is my new build doomed because I bought a flat tappet?

I have no idea how mild or wild your cam is....but I would NOT use lighter springs for the first couple hundred miles...20 min break in at a certain RPM, ok...but unless you intend to idle around town you need the proper spring rate or the lifter's gonna launch off the lobe and slam back down...

    toe on one wheel

Do the camber change, then drive the car and see if the steering wheel is still centered as the car drives down a flat roadway. THEN tweak the toe-in total, but probably biasing it toward the side the camber was changed on. Why the need for the camber change? Just curious. Personally, I...

Is my new build doomed because I bought a flat tappet?

Many people only use the outer springs (of the "dual springs") to do cam break-in with. Yet in prior times, I never read of doing such, unless it was a very picky builder. I remember reading that the original 440 6bbl cam was a "low taper" cam, to allow for great spring pressures. Matching...

'68 Chrysler 300 15" Disc Brake Wheel cover restoration

I buffed the wheel covers to a mirror finish and moved forward to repaint the black ring around the center cover and silver between the “spokes” that give the wheel cover a perception of depth. I went to the local auto paint supply store and got some masking tape that worked wonderfully since...

Where was this Mopar Brochure/Ad Photo shot?

Recently I went through the Cool "Car Art" Illustrations thread looking at pictures that may be locatable and saved a bunch. First up doesn't have much to go on but is a real place, the detail in the picture seamed more photograph than illustration so it seamed plausible to locate. This is in...

Is my new build doomed because I bought a flat tappet?

Also use a good quality break in oil like Brad Penn/ Penn Grade or Driven by Joe Gibs, 30 weight break in. Make sure all is ready for starting right away. If the car was running well before engine removed use all the old stuff to restart the fresh engine. Carb, ignition etc, all must be known to...

Is my new build doomed because I bought a flat tappet?

You can check the taper on the cam lobes with a dial caliper and check the base of the lifters for crown with a pocket ruler. If you see something suspect, don't use it. And like @Cartel mentioned, easy on the springs during break in and watch the video he posted. I like to ball hone the lifter...

I admire your concern over all things large and small but you're seriously overthinking this .

    Driveline noise/drone/vibration

A lot of the rebuilds I've seen have the seal with no boot. I've always thought the one with the boot would be better at keeping junk out of the rear bearing, but who knows... It probably doesn't make much difference.
