The spare one I have is not in good shape the short pin that keeps it straight is there but broken off .it does have the gasket. I don't believe these hood ornaments ever had a spring in them. Both my spare and original are solid.

Agreed on all that. Project cars have always not been discounted enough vs the cost to bring them to the level of a nice car, but the asking prices for projects seems to have gone nuts in the last few years.
