    Caliper not releasing

Until you do some diagnostics you are only guessing. Open the bleeder screw and see if the caliper releases. If it does then the caliper is working and then you start diagnosing the lines master cylinder and valve. I see you are also in Michigan, where abouts do you live?

    Hard Braking

Thanks. Engine does not miss while braking or stopped. It's always been hard but getting worse.

    Caliper not releasing

I have not replaced the master cylinder. I just changed the calibers and brake hose. Could it be the master cylinder or brake booster or peripheral valve?

Brakes creaking? What's the spring the encircles the drum for ? 57 Belvedere

That's great information Mccabe, thank you. Discovered it was an aftermarket power brake booster making that odd noise. It works fine except for the noise. I just posted the update on another post titled "has anyone see a brake booster like this?" This forum helped me figure it out. :)

    Will it work? Lol

I believe the ECI kit uses a 1.031/1 1/32" master and if I recall correctly, the increased bore works with the increased piston size of the chevy calipers that are used in the kit to maintain the same braking distances and pressures, so there is at least some thought about these things put into...

    Will it work? Lol

Weird never heard that one before but okay then What if I already have a booster on the car. Would I have to get a different pedal assembly?

1962 chrysler Newport front and rear disc breaks

Whose 4-whl disc brake kit is on the car? Might there be an issue with "hard linings" rather than boosted pressure? Dual diaphram booster? On the OEM hydroboost pickups I've driven, I was always impressed with the firmness of the pedal (compared to similar vehicles with vac power brakes)...

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

I think so, can you post a pic of it? Can you confirm if your imperial is a disc brake car, otherwise if its power drums I cannot use it. I know there are differences between imperials disc spindles rotors and calipers but the boosters should be the same.

Midland Ross Single Diaphragm Booster Rebuild

This is a well established shop that rebuilds all sorts of boosters, pumps, etc. for the commercial trucking industry. Of course they rebuild stuff for cars and light trucks too. Plating is extra. My booster was black and was peeling from contact with brake fluid. Under the paint was bare...

    72 Imperial brake booster

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get the power brake booster for my 72 IMP rebuilt I've tried looking on Online Imperial Club (OIC) for Imperial, Chrysler Imperial, and Chrysler New Yorker Brougham Enthusiasts but a lot of the stuff there is so outdated TIA!

A Wrapup of Goodbye and Good Riddance

I remember a few discussions in the past where we tried to diagnose this system. I don't remember all the details. But - Every component of a braking system must do its job for the brakes to work well. I don't recall if there were problems with the MC/calipers/rotors, or just the booster vs...

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

Thanks! As I was reading your previous post, I was wondering how the boost could be calculated without knowing hte vacuum input and the brake pedal force input. Looking at the page you linked, I see they used some 'average values' to get there. (which is fine) A person could push 1 foot on a...

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

I will be grabbing the donor cars brake disc power booster as well. I already have a nice disc drum 4 bolt MC with 1 , 1/8 bore thanks to mobile parts.

    Another Disc brake question.

The original 64 Chrysler drum power booster with 67 dual 1 inch drum master works very well on my 64 New Yorker with 78 Corboba 11.75-inch disc brakes in all street driving conditions. Haven't tried it yet with a 1.25 master. Pedal modulation is very good and requires little effort to lock the...
