1978 Chrysler makes hiss sound and brakes seem soft when applying brakes

Chk fluid in gthe master cyl and also look for a brake fluid trail from the middle of where the master cyl mounts to the booster. The hiss is from vacuum, it can progress to where the engine misses when you step on the brakes, too. Plan on a rebuild of the booster, at least. CBODY67

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

Anyone have an extra disc/drum bendix booster for sale? Or know of a source to buy one? It will be going into my 68 plymouth sport fury. I have a console shift car, so I can use either the dual or single diaphragm bendix boosters. I’m overhauling my brakes and rebuilding using factory parts...

    66 new yorker brake booster

I'm presuming you want an "already done" unit for quick installation? The BEST option is to send your booster to what used to be "Booster Dewey", for rebuild. Dewey has retired and a former employee is carrying on with great product rebuilds. In a different town, too. Google can find the...

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

T They are not my calculations. I am not a design engineer by any means. I got some info off of the internet a few years ago while trying to figure out why my 68 Charger single 8" diaphragm booster worked fine with drum brakes but not after I upgraded to front discs. . I posed a question on how...

    Another Disc brake question.

Yup, use the disc booster, 1000% for the reasons above, PLUS this: If for some reason you're involved in an accident where a serious injury or death occurs, and in the investigation to determine why, and it's determined that you did the work on your car (as an unlicensed mechanic), and...

Ever see brake booster like this?

The odd brake noise was actually coming from an air inlet on this booster. Says Bendix Aircraft Corp on it. The inlet has a sort of coarse brill fabric under a screen with a snap ring. The sound would come from it intermittently when at a complete stop. It sounded like metal to metal but...

Absolutely, I agree. Municipal, state/provincial laws aside re licensing, it's based on common sense.

68’ 300 OEM disc swap question

If your 300 is console shift, the booster should/may work, if it will bolt into the space. I'm assuming it's the same booster that would be on any 73 Cbody and not bigger in diameter because it's on an Imperial, even tho they were a unibody Cbody after 1966. The bigger single diaphragm disc...

Did I Get the Wrong Booster

Hi Fellas, So I am eliminating the LEEDs brake conversion system (why I am, I'll save for another day) on my 1969 Fury III column shift car. Anyway, I was able to score a complete disc brake setup from a 1972 New Yorker. I took EVERYTHING right down to the brake pedal assembly. I also...

    Another Disc brake question.

I had this done to my 69 Newport convertible Replaced the master cylinder with a new one. Added a disc booster pump with a proportional valve. Works great and has no problem stopping this beautiful work of art.
