    Fuel Pump Issues need diagnosis

Great car. Yes the push rod can wear, might be one of the reasons the car was parked. I would get a new pump, remove push rod and check length. There have been some good discussion on here about the pushrods. I don't trust the after market rods as I have had those fail on fresh engines, I find...

    Fuel Pump Issues need diagnosis

With a new fuel pump, next thing to look at is the rod that works it. The fuel pump pushrod. They do wear, so a new one probably is in order. Be sure to get one with hardened ends, but for now, anything "new" will do. Please keep us posted, CBODY67

Mopar 8.75 Sure Grip/ Limited Slip rebuild questions

I’m sure that just like everything else, it depends on brand, country of origin, and likely when they were made to get good ones. Over the years I had always heard that they were drag race only, not intended for the side loads that street use exerts on the bearing. I headed that advise and never...

Hello from germany / 440 New Yorker

Here are specs from a couple of sellers. More Information for CARLSON H5017 I used the original part number and came up with same part you have. Fuel Pump Issues need diagnosis

Howdy folks, I recently began restoring a '66 Monaco 500 w/ 440 It's rough looking, but a California body, so worth restoring. My first goal was to get it started. With gas fed into the carb, it runs well - for about 10 seconds. I put in a bypass fuel tank, but there was no suction. I replaced...

Hello there. I am trying to find a solid complete project 1965 Monaco witch AC, console and bucket seats (power windows would be really nice). I want to restore it with my dad for him. Without him I wouldn’t have my Duster and same for my brother and his Swinger. Show me what you have got or...

    Bastardized 1959 "Coronet" build

Did a few small things yesterday.. Found and fixed a rattle from one of the tailpipes. Added a catch basin, if you will, around the fuel filler cap. I modified the filler so now I can get the gas station nozzle in there without using an additional nozzle from a gas can. Auto shutoffs are still...

    Horn repair worth the trouble?

Have you tried adjusting the horns? There should be a small hex-head style screw sticking up from the housing, near the center of the mechanism. Sometimes, moving that screw can affect output. The FSM mentions it, with a picture. Just a thought, CBODY67

    Horn repair worth the trouble?

Several years ago I met a retired school teacher at his booth at the West Bend WI. January swap meet. The guy is Gary Wise and he restored vehicle horns. He restored my '59 Imperial horn for $15. Now I would suggest calling him to get current pricing etc. His home phone is 262-353-9637 and a...

    “Easy” oil change drain plug

The 2 cons for me are: 1. Some sediment and oil will remain in the oil pan since the drain hole is slightly higher now 2. Slower draining My lawn mower engine has something similar, but it's plastic, and I have to go find the hose for it when it's time to drain the oil. It's mounted...
