They are definitely not Chrome. Probably cadmium or zinc. I bought some for my car a few years ago after trying 4 or 5 from the parts houses. They fit exactly like my originals except for all the dings dents and rust. All of the parts house caps were too short. Must be shivvy only.

Love it! There's a guy near Detroit who has a large interest in these cars, and he seems to be a pretty fair carpenter as well. His work is amazing. Perhaps he could give you some advise regarding the preservation/restoration of the wood trim. @detmatt
