For drum-brake cars, were there 2 different hub sizes? 1 9/16 and 1 13/16 (1.6" and 1.8") ?
At some point in the past year I bought a couple of Dorman 13976 front-hub dust caps. I later discovered that they don't fit - they're too small.
At the time, the part was a Dorman 13967, but currently rock auto shows a Dorman 618100. A part search for 13967 comes up with 618100 as a matching part.
My original dust cap measures as 1.78 inches, or I guess close enough to 1 13/16.
The application list for the 618100 / 13976 (see below) shows a bit of an odd mix of cars, some what peculiar is Monaco (68-72) and Polara (66-72) and Newport (71-72).
Poking around a little, I've come across a Dorman 13996 which is 1 13/16" (1.81 inch) so maybe this is what I'm looking for? The application list for this one is strictly mopar, various years that run from 73 to 95.
Were there indeed 2 different hub sizes? If so, what determined which car model / year had what hub?
