Been cracking on some floor repairs for @GOLDMYN recently A Little bit more trimming fitting and I should be welding up the patches for the rear floors and moving onto the smaller stuff in front.

    Horn repair

There are a few videos on YouTube that may help. Search "Autolite horn repair" and similar phrases to find them. Here's a couple, but I really didn't watch them.

While that's true, a lot of the aftermarket pads aren't molded like the OEM, so that's really not answering the question. I see your question as being pretty reasonable. No one is born knowing everything and you are correct that part of the purpose of the site is to help with "proper...

    Under hood insulation

Thank you for your response. I am now confident in ensuring proper assembly, which I believe is part of the purpose of this site. I have had to scrape the insulation off of a hood or two in the past. Thank you also for pointing out my lack of experience on this particular topic. In my responses...

    Horn repair

Has anyone here ever tried to repair a horn? It's a large Autolite out of a '58 Imperial. I would like to get this original horn back in working condition, like the other 2 in the car. Are there any repair shops that do it?

What are you working on today??

I got the facia mounted for these doors yesterday. I used brass angle brackets and some shortened self tapping sheet metal screws that have a hex head on them. Due to the 2 x 4 right behind the facia, I had to drill a hole in each side to get one screw in on the vertical part of the angle...

"Very similar to a 55 Chevy but..." what an odd thing to say. I mean, it's "very similar" to every other '55 car at that rate. It'd be nice to see a car like this restored rather than stay in its "patina" era, a look that I see as just a lazy man's approach to restoration. "It's only original...

    Filler neck grommet install.

I recommend the '70 and up grommets. They have 2 sealing surfaces and seem more flexible. I've installed 3 completely trouble free vs others I've used. They should fit C bodies, but check the dimensions first. Mopar B Body 70 & E Body 70-74 Fuel Gas Tank Grommet 3404182

    Under hood insulation

By the middle 1960s, the insulators were also stamped to match the inner structure of the hood panel itself. That, too, kind of answers the question, too.
