    1958 Trunk and glovebox keys

Trunk lock and cylinder on the '57-'59 Imperials look totally different:

    Oval air filter part numbers

And here is the difference between the '58 standard Chrysler 392 Hemi air filter, and the one used on the Chrysler 300. 3.6" vs. 2.25". I did manage to get the last 2 from MoparMall, before they became "out of stock" once again.

    1958 Trunk and glovebox keys

'58 Imperial... it is the same clip as this? I don't think it is as easy to reach as on the the Chryslers though...

    1958 Trunk and glovebox keys

I agree with this... I was just hoping to take the glove box lock to the lock smith and NOT have to take the trunk lock out. Easy removal versus not as easy.

    1958 Trunk and glovebox keys

Does anyone know if the trunk key is exactly the same as the one for the glovebox for '58 Mopars? I mean EXACTLY... not like some older GM cars where the glovebox only uses half of the length of the trunk key. What I am trying to do is get a key made off the glovebox lock, in hopes of it working...

OK... does anyone make a correct air filter element for these?

    Oval air filter part numbers

Does anyone have the WIX or NAPA Gold part numbers for the 1958 or 1959 Dual quad oval air cleaner elements? Are they different part numbers for 1958 and 1959? I ask because I have come up with varying results looking online. -Gregg B.

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

I am assuming that going to 11/32" or a 15/32" hose from a 5/8" hose wont affect the amount of vacuum going to the booster. Of course, the 5/8" heater hose on there was already collapsing, so it's got to be better than it was...

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

The hose fitting is right around 1/2", give or take 1/32":

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Well, I got the new hose today. However, I have a hard time believing that this 11/32" hose is correct for this. I tried to get it on the fitting, but it is just too small to fit. This new hose I have is clearly marked as 11/32". I've shown pictures of the 5/8" heater hose that was on there...

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

I doubt that the fittings were changed, as they would have to make changes to both fittings on the tank, as well as the one on the booster and the intake manifold. I have some 11/32" vacuum hose coming from NAPA today. I'll report back after then. -Gregg B.

Maybe... not sure... don't have a later car to compare.

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Well, unfortunately, the last person used heater hose instead of vacuum hose, so it's not correct to begin with.

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Can anyone tell me the size of the vacuum hose between the brake booster and the vacuum canister, as well as the hose between the manifold and the canister? This is on a 1958 Imperial. -Gregg B.

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

Can you show me where you ran the cable for the remote mirror through the firewall and rear of fender?

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

Can anyone show me the route for the cables through the inner fender and into the cabin on a '58 Chrysler or Imperial? Photos would be optimal.

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

Did Mopar cars even have a remote outside mirror in 1958? While doing some research, I cannot confirm this. It looks like the remote outside drivers funder-mount mirror did not debut until 1959 (fall of '58 for '59 models). -Gregg B.

'58 Imperial Wire Wheels and Tires

I'm looking for a set of wire wheels and tires for a stock '58 Imperial. The wire wheels would be the classic-looking Chrysler style wire wheels with spinners. I'm thinking getting 15", even though the original wheels are 14". Or, is that a bad idea? Also, I may want to go with a new modern...
