67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

Pic of the final result: I don't know if these can be cold chiselled out without having to drill out the weld, but if they can that would be the preferable route - whoever welded these particular brackets together didn't really align them, so the hole I drilled out in the separated bit is...

67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

Update: WOOHOO. Workshop buddies used a very thin cold chisel to split apart the rest of the spot welds. Apparently put up a fight though, "wasn't easy" was what I was told so I owe them beer and food.

67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

Well POO. I tried to drill out what I thought were the spot welds with a 10mm drill bit. Drill press made short work of it...but it's still stuck together tight. I had to slice out one flange of the bushing then force it out with a hammer and a flathead screwdriver, allowing me to at least take...

67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

Ahhhhhhh that's why. Thank goodness that I can easily get some extra nuts and bolts then.

67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

eeyup. i'm replacing all rubber suspension bits minus the big bump stops on the stub frame because those were the only ones that were in good nick. I did see that. I've decided it's not worth the effort to try to push the bracket and bushing off the bar, I do want to make it easier to service...

67 Fury, drilling out sway bar-frame brackets

Unlikely that I'm going to be able to get a set of PST brackets as they appear to be no longer in production, so have settled for trying to improve the OE brackets to make them serviceable. The bushing kit I got off rockauto, K7061: has two nuts and bolts for what I can only assume is meant for...

Right tools for the job! Rebuilt my front upper and lower control arms.

Would this really be necessary? I just clamped the control arm in a vise on the longest side, then tightened up the ball joint with a long breaker bar. Or at least, I initially did that before just using a high torque impact while still in the vise, since it was a lot faster. First threaded it...

WANTED 67 Fury front sway bar to frame links

I already have the bushings, but I just need a replacement bracket for the sway bar x stub frame. One side seems to have been bent and I figured I might as well replace it as I can only assume bending it back would weaken the metal

WANTED 67 Fury front sway bar to frame links

Am after a pair of sway bar links for a 67 Fury, the ones that hold the square rubber bushings. Would prefer if the welds were already drilled out for easy servicing. Alternatively, if anyone has a PST kit that will accept the factory size sway bar bushings I'd also be interested in that, as PST...

Wonder if it's possible to 3D print them. Looks like it'd need a pretty big printer though...

    evans waterless coolant

Yeah...looks like something that would be suited for someone like Jay Leno who has a humongous car collection, and can't possibly drive every single car all the time, so maintenance intervals would be stretched out or more critical since it's not good for cars to sit unused for very long...

    evans waterless coolant

honestly this kinda sounds like the FUD around HC12/hydrocarbon refrigerants. There was a pretty big scare campaign in the early 00s by one of the aussie HVAC associations around it, and they tried to scare people off it by showing videos of them going out of their way to ignite the refrigerant...

    67 Fury front suspension rebuild

Aww yisssssss, got the upper ball joints replaced. Forget trying to do it by hand - a 6 ft cheater bar didn't make it budge one hair, and forget trying to tighten it by hand while it's on the car, it's doable, but you'll wish you had a vise on a bench, or a BIG impact. At work, one of the guys...

For aussies: Dodge Phoenix 65-68 inner tie rods PSA

I did forget about the current state of our monopoly money, but at the same time their prices have mostly remained constant even before the dollar really went down. I missed out in 2010-11 when the AUD was worth 1.10 USD...what a time to be buying stuff from the US.

For aussies: Dodge Phoenix 65-68 inner tie rods PSA

How were they in their heyday? I've perused their site before, but this is my first ever time buying from them, and looking at the prices of the stuff they sell...to be frank it's a ripoff. I've always just looked up parts on their site, then just going to rockauto to see how much cheaper it is...

For aussies: Dodge Phoenix 65-68 inner tie rods PSA

Posting this because facebook groups suck for information retention and searchability, this thread should hopefully show up when the google spider does its thing. Mainly for aussie 65-68 dodge phoenix owners although it might apply to other years too. As you guys are probably aware, the inner...

    Shock Grommet Removal?

I know the other guys have already answered your question, but that sleeve definitely doesn't fit on the KYBs. Tried it when I removed my shocks the other day. Pretty sure they were still the original Monroes from when the car was made too.

67 Fury - removing wheel studs from rear left drum?

heh, this almost sounds like some arcane ritual intended to summon a vehicular antichrist thanks guys. Will press them out if I can bring the hub to work, otherwise I'm gonna pretend I'm Jeremy Clarkson and HAMMER.

(Another) 383 2 bbl to 4 bbl conversion thread, anyone got a parts list?

any 4 bbl intake? I went with a knockoff weiand 8008. Seems to work well enough, although I had to dremel a small amount from the bolt hole where the throttle return spring bracket mounts, in order for it to sit more flat. I do really like how much lighter the aluminium intake is compared to the...
