    Fender Tag decoder

I see yours is a '58 Imp and that one of the pix I sent was unreadable so here is a better example of a '59 Chrysler 300E tag--and one of a '58 Imp. I'm still in the data gathering mode but do have some decode notes found on the 'net.

    Fender Tag decoder

I've collected some examples of '57-'59 Chrysler-Imperial tags to enhance my existing 1960-1966 decoder and would like to work with you on decoding the tag on your '59 Chrysler. and '57 Imp. Please post or PM pix.

My 1971 Imperial Factory Sunroof 2 Door Coupe

Indeed, which is why I gather that @Imperial Pete wanted one on his gorgeous GB2. @nitoh owns a 4dr one in Germany -- see his 2011 thread here. Here is a YT video of the car (start at 2:40):

Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

I would assume yes but I am not an expert. I only know the spring comes out as I had a ride height issue and was doing some troubleshooting. I don't think the height will change without the spring. Good luck

1968 300 Rear Main Seal Leak

Finally got the motor back together enough to put oil in. I used a new 6 quart pan from 440source and the all-in-one windage tray gasket torqued to 100 inch pounds. Both very nice products. I then primed the engine to make sure I was getting oil through the valve train on both sides (I...

    1978 Newport... replacing ball joints

Too simply put it, quality ball joints pay for themselves in length of service. As for control arm bushings, old bushings flex w/ suspension travel which will cause toe out, pull under braking, bump steer to name a few. Does replacing control arm bushings cost more, the answer is yes. To pass on...

Headers to fit 60-64 full size Mopars?

I've wondered about this too. Most of what I've read says standard Mopar wedge heads don't flow well enough to benefit from headers without a ton of work. That may explain why they don't really exist. One thing I've considered, but haven't explored the cost, is extrude-honing. I've seen it done...

    1978 Newport... replacing ball joints

Hmmm... I don't really have a suggestion as to a trusted shop in that area - however, @Mike66Chryslers is closer to Hamilton than I am, and may have a better idea.

NOT MINE 1963 Chrysler Imperial Custom 4dr Hardtop, 64k miles - $9,500 - Waukegan, IL

Hey, that's my car! :D This guy was the best seller I've ever met. Probably the most honest, detailed listing I've ever seen for a sub-10K car, and so far, everything written has proven true.

Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

Once you jack it up a bit, the tension will come off rather quickly. No compressor needed.. Just a little strength.. same for going back on. Push and twist. Can't answer second question. Maybe take better pics and one of the resident experts can chime in. What's the leaf count on both sides?
