(Another) 383 2 bbl to 4 bbl conversion thread, anyone got a parts list?

I love your work. The AVS and intake look really nice, and your skills with the fuel lines and throttle linkages are admirable. You sound really happy with the end result, and I would be too. Enjoy your car, which won’t be difficult!!

How to test temp sender and gauge with only a multimeter?

I finally got my car fired up and man it's a great feeling getting it running again. But unfortunately, I noticed that my temp gauge barely moves from stone cold even though the engine is scalding hot. The fuel gauge works fine, which implies something wrong along the sender circuit. Is there...

    What is this knob for

Yes, if the system works it is like todays “automatic” system. Also leaves the headlights on for a minute or 2 after you park it.

Toyota washer bottle in a 67 Fury

Nice, it almost looks like a milk bottle haha. The mounting hole I mentioned in the first post wasn't from the factory - it was from whoever installed the washer bottle. I just enlarged it with a step drill then went from there.

    Body Bumper Kit

What you don't use at first, put them in a zip lock bag and put them in the trunk. Sooner or later, you'll find where they go or determine they are not needed on your vehicle. Enjoy! CBODY67

Fiddily-fartin' around on the Imp and the Coronet

Got the Coronet over to a friend's shop on Friday for a complete brake re-do. It's been parked over two years because of two things: I lost my patience with the car and I can't bend or do anything over the past two years. A second set of eyeballs is always good to have. The brakes were way...

    Question on borderline battery

If you are worried about volts from the battery to the coil, look at the smallest battery that was standard on Slant 6s and 318s back then. In a time before "CCA" was used as a measure of electric power in vehicle batteries. In earlier times, it was "battery cranking reserve in minutes", as I...

Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

The front is too low, which makes the rear too high. The "leverage effect". FSM for the factory specs on front suspension ride height (NOT from measuring the fender heights). When the front suspension is not at factory ride height, or the rear end is too high, it can affect the actual caster...

    Reattaching badges

Your problem seems to be solved. I have a 65 Newport that had the same problem. I went to the hardware store got some nylon nuts, worked great. I got extras in case I need to remove letters again. Whatever works but I agree....no tape.

Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

I think way back 50-60 years ago they did raise the car. In the last 20 years they are not very strong springs, you can move the springs up by hand. And we are not very strong compared to the weight of a car.
