How to test temp sender and gauge with only a multimeter?

Yessssssss, it's just the temp sender! Pulled the spade connector, sat it against the distributor body, turned the ignition to on, and the gauge shot right up. Thanks yet again everyone!

old and new Thermostat tests with questions

What year was your 440 built? I don't recommend 160 F thermostats eve here in southern AZ. I use a stock 180F open skirt RobertShaw thermostat during the summer, which is precisely what a 383 built in 1966 had. I now use a 195 F RobertShaw for the winter, as I observed that allows my engine...

If your point is that Reg Riemer is a scam artist, you need to reword and retitle your post. This site is a public forum. You cannot order anything on it. You can post a want ad in the Wanted forum.

old and new Thermostat tests with questions

170-200 would be the range I expect to see. 210 wouldn't bother me idling in traffic on a hot summer day. Anything beyond that - somethings wrong.

    Headlight motors

Rod comes out with motor and motor does not work without rod. Why would anyone take motor and leave rod? Ship the motor in a box and rod in PVC pipe.

    1971 300

The motor was taken apart 20 years ago and is in a garage. Not sure about transmission. Not sure about grill or front fenders yet. As I recall he said the motor had some type of issue. What would the motor and trans be worth to add to the car if I can't get him to add it for the price...

old and new Thermostat tests with questions

Forget "The Internet", what the cars came with was a 180*F thermostat. When emissions came to be a larger issue, then they went to 195*F thermostats, OEM. No difference for factory a/c cars or not. To me, if someone perceives their engine will make more power with a 160*F thermostat, so be...

    Ammeter bypass

Authority? no, I don’t, just a quick reference once in a while on parts applications/interchangeability. For that, haven’t run into many errors. Not real surprised they got this one wrong, going back to 1960. Simply shows no reference to generators, only alternator in 1960 and no reference to...

    1971 300

Just a rough estimate, there's at least $2000 worth of parts there, not including more unusual sales like roof sheetmetal, dutchman, etc. Even more $$$ if engine and trans are rebuildable and not visually/obviously junk. But for a project car? I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it as you'll...

    ‘65 Sales Data

Does anyone know of someone or a place that may have old factory/dealer records for 1965 imperials or mopars in general? What I am looking for is something similar to the NCRS corvette documents that you can request that show the original selling dealer or those Marti reports for ford that show...
