1961 Plymouth Fury Sonoramic Commando FOUR door

Next question, do you want 4 bolt valve covers as original? The don't have cast in rocker pedestals. Or do you not mind 6 bolt valve covers? Mid 1963 was the change. And remember you need to have the bolt holes on the end of the passenger head for the alternator bracket. So 1960 and older...

Yeah, someone cited a book stating 39 four door ht Fury’s had that option. I’ll start looking for 516’s near me then.

1961 Plymouth Fury Sonoramic Commando FOUR door

Neat car, they made many of the long ram 4 doors, it was an optional engine. I wouldn't want open chamber heads on that engine. I would use the fairly common 516 heads and leave the 1.60 exhaust valves. Because that is what the combination is and it is small cubic inches.

    Ammeter bypass

Yes, the engineers that created original design for that bulkhead charge path connection got it right. The early sixties bulkhead screw terminal connector. Aways believed the bean counters made the call to use Packard’s instead, likely saved a fraction of cent and a few seconds on the assembly...

When we are having a specific discussion where I asked what opinions are of the car I expect lots of folks to say they want it. If it were a for sale ad I totally get not having a discussion about the car. But in this instance I am asking for those discussions. The amount of people asking...

    What 4bbl carb for 1968 318 fury?

You have 1966-1967 273 intake. What transmission are you running. A 273 AFB would be perfect for your 318. What are the numbers on your AVS?
