Question on batteries; CCA and AGM

You should have pressed the MSD person for what the minimum requirements are for the coil getting a solid voltage/amp feed! Until you know the lowest voltage/amp threshold, it's only speculation. UNLESS there is something in on the MSD website about such information. I also highly suspect the...

    318 4-barrel from the factory?

The story I read from those times was the engineers wanted a fuel injector and the bean counters said " f*#k no! Those are a hundred bucks a piece!!!"

Question on batteries; CCA and AGM

Anything 800+ CCA will be good, no need for AGM.

Question on batteries; CCA and AGM

Any of those batteries would be plenty good. A lead acid battery would be just fine. Your alternator is what provides power when the engine is running. The car doesn't (and shouldn't) run off the battery.

Question on batteries; CCA and AGM

Looking for battery for my New Yorker (440 engine, MSD coil). Fellow from MSD said the MSD coil needs a strong signal to produce a quality spark at the plug. I'm thinking of a 850 CCA Interstate. Stopped at Advanced Auto and they showed me an AGM battery. Saw where AGM batteries can produce 900...

    1958 Dodge Coronet V8 upgrade

Being a 1979 model year item, NOW you can further research if it has the lock-up torque converter or not. There used to be floor shifters, aftermarket, for automatic transmissions. B&M, for example, used a cable to work the side linkage on the transmission. Enjoy! CBODY67

Are you planning on resurfacing the engine deck? That's the only reason to take those out. Be careful with what you replace them with. I've seen guys snap off hardened deck pins, so I stick with the non-hardened pins like original.

    Factory or Not?

In looking for a wheel for my 69 I found that the 69s didn't have the hold but the 70s did on the same wheel (by part number) Alan

    Factory or Not?

My 4 matching wheels are made by Motor Wheel with 7 digit part number. The 5th wheel with hole is Kelsey Hayes. I'll get pics of stampings.

    Stub frame swap

Thanks for the information. This answers my question about the swap. I was hoping to use the later model brakes, but I'll look at other avenues.

    Ignition Switch for 1958 Imperial

What type of switch is used on 1958 Imperial models? It is a kind with 3 screw posts in the back or 4? Does it connect to the dash with a screw bezel or a set screw in the back? Does anyone have a part number? -Gregg B.

    1969 Imperial progress thread

Yes. Thanks. Something still not right. Appears I have no cam to move it. I took it loose and ran the motor and manually connecting the points did nothing either even when the switch was turned off. I tested the switch and it's perfect according to FSM but I still have 1 speed and no park...

    1958 Dodge Coronet V8 upgrade

Brilliant, whilst still researching the engine it's attached to that's also coming up as a 1979(I wondered if it might have been a later unit so looks like it's all 1979)
