1958 Dodge Coronet V8 upgrade

As posted elsewhere I'm in the process of restoring a base model 1958 Coronet and looking to V8 swap it(it's a flathead 6 with manual trans). I've acquired a later 360 unit with auto transmission but struggling to identify what it's out of. On the lists I can find there's no 4058319 listed(there's a 4058318 for Tradesman vans from what I can find thus far). Any thoughts and can his be set up to work with either column shift or push button(UK based so obtaining transmissions creates challenges based on how few are available locally)

Definitely not a "push button" cable shift trans. I understand there are kits available to use the push button with a trans that doesn't use a cable shift, but I have no experience with them.

I had to look in my transmission book to be sure on this as I'm not a "numbers guy".

The second set of numbers is (or should be) the date code. Based on the 10,000 day calendar Chrysler used, 6312 is November 8, 1978, so it would have been in a 1979 vehicle.

Brilliant, whilst still researching the engine it's attached to that's also coming up as a 1979(I wondered if it might have been a later unit so looks like it's all 1979)

Being a 1979 model year item, NOW you can further research if it has the lock-up torque converter or not.

There used to be floor shifters, aftermarket, for automatic transmissions. B&M, for example, used a cable to work the side linkage on the transmission.
