NOT MINE Something different - 1931 Chrysler Imperial.

The grille in this one is awesome! Bears a mild resemblance to the basket-weave pattern in some old fireplace screens, but looks 10x better than all of the slim-stick grilles that 99% of cars had in this era.

Uncle Tony's Garage - EFI vs Carburetor & Heat Riser

IMO the dual-plane is fine for street use with EFI, whether it would be TBI or port-EFI. The intake style (whether dual or single) determines its characteristics for airflow and RPM range. The intake you have is designed for a carb, so it is designed for wet-flow (which the Holley provides)...

    Scenicruisin'..?

Post some pics of your rear lighting and maybe I'll have some ideas? (too many pages for me to dig thru) Often the reality isn't as good as the dream. (my dad) Nothing wrong with dreams, sometimes they keep us going. But sometimes they eat us from the inside-out. (me)

440 source bushed stainless Rocker Arms.

Haven't used them, but I researched higher-ratio rocker arms awhile back. Those 440Source units would be 1 of my 2 choices (Speedmaster 1.6 would be the other). Bushed is much better for a shaft than needle bearings, as bushings spread the load and wear better, esp when they have a supply of...

    Factory or Not?

The hole would NOT be specific for mounting a spare wheel in the trunk (unless perhaps the space-saver/inflator bottle) because after you have a flat, or rotated the tires on the 5-tire pattern, the one going into the trunk wouldn't have that feature and it would mean something wouldn't install...

Members we haven’t heard from in a while.

Whilst going down a rabbit-hole about AMC volcanoes vs Road Wheel caps, I saw what might be the best followup of all time. @73 T&C was working on a wagon, and @Moabion offered him a rear AC unit for the cost of shipping. (admiration #1) 73 T&C looped back 5 years later that it was installed...

    Additive to fix Torqeflite shudder?

Well said. Too often we discard what the engineers decided simply because we don't think it matters. Maybe it doesn't matter today or next week, perhaps it matters over 30k miles from now. Yes, if you see debris- it has failed. FWIW, the last failed axle bearing I had did not show any...

    Disc brake one more time

@rd92west That bracket would look a lot more robust if it totally circled the spindle, but perhaps the steering arm prohibits that. Those circled areas aren't sharp corners, are they? Hope not. Even if they are, a more generous radius would be better there.

    Disc brake one more time

Ah, I was getting the ECI and AAJ kits mixed up. Forgot hte ECI supplies the hub, so who knows what they have that rotor/wheel pilot machined to. I would hope it's the stock Mopar, though, to preserve hub piloting (although that's not absolutely critical). To clarify - I was merely noting the...

    Disc brake one more time

That centric/fvp 12162025 rotor isn't a direct-fit, at least on paper. The 11.16" dia give a bit of a chance that it will fit inside a 14" rim, but the 2.201" overall height puts the caliper outboard toward the rim. (15" wheel should be no problem?) It doesn't specify what the 2nd bolt pattern...

    Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

I bet I could call them and ask about how negotiable they are on price and get 15k knocked off. I can't imagine the phone is ringing much on this one, folks with that kinda money are looking at other cars.

    Disc brake one more time

Presumably hte AAJ uses the stock hub/bearings/seal, after you remove the drum from it? Do you know if it will fit behind a 14" wheel? If so, that $300 is a great option.

NOT MINE 1974 Dodge Monaco 4 Door Navajo Nation, AZ $12345

I think we could all agree that this 2-3 sec of this scene is pretty cool. But to me, the best few secs is this one, from the famous 'Lower Wacker Drive' chase. (just a few secs at the timer mark, shot from the sidewalk as the car flies by) I've not researched it, so I could be wrong, but it...

Lets Play A Game: Last Of The Convertibles

I've parted out 10+ a few cars over the years (thankfully no regrets that any were worth restoration). And only a couple were within reach of 'saving' but they were 4-doors that didn't have much value as a complete car. With that said, I wouldn't even attempt my suggestion (and @71Polara383...

    Scale models and other collectables

Yeah, forgot hood and decklid. 1/10 is a good size for fixing such details. Buy one and do it, then show it here. :) Glad to hear you have it on your hobby bench. I have it on my basement hobby bench and 2 benches in the detached garage, they were blank slates and the first new workbenches...

    Scale models and other collectables

@RWCearley I didn't tag you into this as it's a 70, but with a little effort it could get a different grille and taillights to become a 71? And sand off any 300 emblems. 1/10-scale 3D-printed Chrysler 300 And BTW - I have the same countertop pattern as you!

    NOT MINE 1970 polara convertible

Yeah, I've often wished there were some means for incomplete/rough cars to be collected and the roughest of them used to make others better. Sounds like a JY, but I'm talking about what 71Polara383 is talking about. It's just not financially practical.

Uncle Tony's Garage - EFI vs Carburetor & Heat Riser

Ironically, my 318s got pretty substantial highway usage and still plugged the crossover. And yeah, that crap is near-rock-hard, and a chisel is the best tool. It'll ruin a screwdriver for sure.
